Knee ultrasound report template

A structured knee ultrasound report template used for knee ultrasound. It covers 8 sections and 29 fields, and includes a one-click normal preset.

Demonstration content. Review and approve this template with your clinical lead before clinical use. Reference values shown in SonoTez are notes only and are never applied automatically.

Technique

High-frequency linear transducer ultrasound of the anterior, medial, lateral and posterior knee.

Sample normal knee ultrasound report

This is the text SonoTez generates when the doctor applies the template's normal preset. Measurements are left for the doctor to enter.

Technique

High-frequency linear transducer ultrasound of the anterior, medial, lateral and posterior knee.

Findings

Quadriceps tendon

The quadriceps tendon is normal in thickness and fibrillar echotexture.

Patellar tendon

The patellar tendon is normal in thickness and fibrillar echotexture.

Suprapatellar recess

No suprapatellar recess effusion or synovial thickening.

Medial compartment

The medial collateral ligament is intact. Pes anserine tendons and bursa are normal.

Lateral compartment

The lateral collateral ligament, iliotibial band and lateral tendons are intact.

Popliteal fossa

No Baker cyst.

Impression

No sonographic abnormality of the knee. Ultrasound does not exclude an internal derangement (meniscal or cruciate tear).

Writing the impression

Answer the clinical question first, list the remaining findings in order of importance, and keep anything new out of the impression. If a structure was not fully seen, say so and give the reason. See how to write an ultrasound report for wording and certainty terms.
